Today dawned bright and early for Zack...but hopefully not too early. He's had a couple of days to adjust to the change in time zones and yesterday we went by the school and he got to take a tour of the school and meet several of his teachers. I know going in he was pretty nervous and didn't say a whole lot yesterday, but by the time we left (almost 3 hours later) he had really warmed up and was asking questions, talking and looking forward to starting school here in Maine. When we left the school he turned to me and said; "Hey Mom, I think I'm going to like it, I'm excited about school tomorrow." You have no idea how much that thrilled me to hear it. And he's decided to join track, which conveniently begins on Monday. He's also talking about playing soccer too!
And here I sit, 24 hours later, wondering how it's going. He was, understandably, very nervous this morning. I think I might be just as nervous as he was. I'm really looking forward to 2:20PM and being able to go pick him up and see how his day went. It's a huge undertaking and a major adjustment on top of everything else he's (as well as my other older kids still in Seattle) have gone through and Zack is just a trooper for dealing with all of this transition as well as he has.
I've missed so many of Matt, Meg and Zack's "first's" and Zack was so good about putting up with me fussing over him this morning. He even let me snap a few photos! (click to enlarge)

Yesterday we went out and made sure he had a nice warm winter coat (seeing as how it's all of 14F outside right now with a windchill of -10F!!!), some new clothes, and school and track sneakers as well as toasty gloves and hats! I think we pretty much covered anything he might need over the next few months.
And of course, I can't leave out the Little Imp who patiently waited whilst I took a few pics of her big brother, and she herself looked pretty cute, all snuggled up and warm! I couldn't resist this hat, as silly as it is in all it's hot pink glory! Target had a massive winter clearance going on and I snagged it for a whole $2.00!!!

More later. I'm still uploading the rest of the photos from our weekend in Seattle. We had a great time all in all, and we look forward to going back.
