Yeah I am supposed to be packing...well as soon as the
little imp crashes for the afternoon; I will get back to it. Her (yes we
bought HER a ticket!) carry-on is already too heavy. Looks like mum and
daddy's rollies are gonna have to take on some of the imp's toys too, or
books. Dang books are what make the flippin' thing so heavy!
OK, I called the airline yesterday to inquire about what is permissible aboard
when traveling with an infant. The guy that answered the phone very
curtly gave me a web site to go look it up on, and didn't even tell me where on
the said website to go! All he said was; "ma'am (big mistake, don't
call me "Ma'am!), go to www.tsa.gov." That was it. He
couldn't answer a single question. He couldn't even tell me if I will be
able to plug in the portable DVD player we are brining along, or if I am
screwed with the measly 3.5 hour battery time. I know that on some
airlines you can plug in small portable electronics. Grrrrrr!
So I go out to the TSA website and after some navigating find the section which
addresses traveling with children. I could not help but laugh out loud at
the following:
Baby Formula, Breast Milk, and Other Liquids
Baby
formula and breast milk are allowed in your carry-on baggage or
personal items. You can take these through the security checkpoints and
aboard your plane. However, you must be traveling with a baby or
toddler.
All items including formula or breast milk will be inspected, however, you or
your baby or toddler will not be asked to test or taste breast milk or
formula. Our Security Officers will not test or taste formula or breast
milk.

Well thank God for small favours!!! I am so glad they won’t
be sampling my breast milk or requiring me to taste it…because my breast milk
comes in the original packaging – no use pumping for a plane ride when Gaby can
just access the “tap” herself! And like
hell if I am going to taste it. I might
be talented, but I certainly am not that talented! Although I’m still a little worried about the
part that says; “All items including formula or breast milk will be inspected…”
Well, like I said, it comes in the original packaging. *lol*
