Barking Mad

Grrrrrrrrrr!

I just realized in the mad rush to start wrapping presents (I did a lot of my shopping online) that the ONE thing I have been waiting for, HAS NOT ARRIVED!  It's the freaking 23rd of December and now that I am finally feeling well enough (on the heels of food poisoning, I came down with the plague, one of those fun holiday bugs - the gift that keeps on giving!) to try and go out and scour high and low for these things, that I can't and an item I ordered online on December 8th, through Amazon, has yet to arrive.  I don't hold much hope for it arriving tomorrow either.  And after doing a little bit more research, have discovered that these things are imported from Europe anyhow, Germany I believe, so any hope I had of trying to find them around here has been shot to hell!

This pisses me off because I ordered the same exact thing back in early September for a certain someone's birthday and never received it.  It was another vendor.  But they never arrived.  I found out in October that I'd been completely refunded but it was still irritating.

I also just realized I paid almost as much in shipping for this product as the actual product itself.   Whilst irritating, it doesn't really matter.  A certain someone has been wishing for some of these for a some time now and doggone it, no....I take that back....DAMMIT, where are they?!?!?!?!?!?  I don't mind the exhorbitant rip off in shipping fees.  I just want the product!!!!!!  And I didn't order them via expedited shipping either, because, silly me - sitting here thinking that if I ordered by December 8th, I'd get it in time for Christmas.  So I can't track it either.   Really, it's just something silly and fun, but still, I was sooooo looking forward to seeing the look on someone's face when he opened a FIVE POUND bag of these. 

Arrrrrg, this makes me wanna kick something! Colour me Grinch!

I just sent the vendor an email, as well as Amazon and I'm hoping I hear something...possibly get them in time for New Years.   

Bah Humbug!

It Was *SUPPOSED* to Get Up to 32 Today.

Didn't quite hit the mark.  Didn't even come close actually.

However, we did get/are in the middle of, one hell of a Nor'easter.  We already had about 15" of snow on the ground from the last two significant snowfalls, and now we've got another 12" or so on top of that.  Meg was outside walking around and it's now up to her thighs.

It's almost 7PM and the intensity of the snowfall hasn't stopped at all.  At least we haven't gotten the gale force winds that were predicted for us, that they've been getting down in Boston since the storm hit them yesterday. 

Well, dinner time.  More later.

Party Time

Not much time.  Meg is hosting a huge holiday blowout.  We have sorta exceeded the TWENTY people I told her she could invite, but what the hell, it's the holidays and I'm kinda having fun helping out, even if I am doing most of it.  Meg got roped into working 8-4:30 today and I really don't mind helping organize and set up and in a few cases, playing taxi.  It's going to be a fun evening.

Well, I need to get ready and  then head out to pick up a kid or two.
