Are you looking for a way to reach out to those in another nation that cannot reach out for themselves? Is money tight (and really, with gas nearing $4.00 a gallon, who isn't pinching their pinnies just a bit more these days) yet you'd still like to help in some small way? Then I have just the ticket!
Malaria is a totally preventable illness, however many people in Uganda don't have access to the medicines in order to prevent or treat the disease. The amazing folks at Compassion have put together a program called Bite Back.
This Friday, April 25th, is World Malaria Day. Through the Bite Back blitz, folks can donate $10.00 that will provide a family with a mosquito net which will last for three years. THREE YEARS people!!!! Some brand new cars don't even last that long! Of course, if you feel compelled to give more than that, by all means, go for it! Seriously though, ten bucks is not that much and offers a great deal of protection for those in need. And if you can't spare the $10.00 right now (believe me, I would never judge you, things, they be gettin' tight out there in sinking-economy-land), then you can head on over to BooMama's place and pinch the code to place somewhere on your own blog.
Oh and for my British readers (and I know you're out there! I'm related to you!), that's only £5.00!!!
(Grrrrr, just trying to make that annoying ad sink!)
