Departures
Drive
Dorms
Dragging (big boxes of stuff)
Drizzling (another reason I am not wearing makeup today)
Debt (as in the college kind)
Dates (I'm sure Meg will be having lots more of these soon...all those college guys!)
Dollars (she won't be saving)
Deadlines (papers)
Deaf (what she will be will to all those incoming calls from me, checking on her)
Droves (of other moms and dads and college freshmen doing the same thing we are)
Did I mention I have a Daughter who heads off to college today? I do. So many feelings. Dread, being one of them...that I won't handle this well. But I need to pull it together. This is her day.
I have been waiting to feel old enough to have a daughter heading off to college, expecting it to creep up on me and hit me over the head. I AM NOT OLD ENOUGH TO HAVE A DAUGHTER IN COLLEGE! But alas my luvlies, I do. And off she goes today, the start of the rest of her life.
Did I remind her to tuck a pair of clean panties in the car in case of an accident?
I'll be back a tad later with more ramblings of our day spent sending Megawatt off to college.
