Wanna take a virtual trip through my neighbourhood? Sure you do! Come on then, let's go.
Please remain seated and keep your hands and personal objects in the tram at all times.
Now here's a real treat! You get a peek at Barking Mad's street! Not everyone is so lucky. Notice all the pretty leaves as we drive down my street...
They are only nice to look at if you don't end up having to rake up the number of leaves that equals the national debt. Do we have any volunteers who would like to help us out? Anyone? No? Well, you're no fun!
Speaking of fallen leaves, here's our local walking/ATV/Snowmobile path, otherwise known as; "WALK at your own risk, because you might be mowed down by a teenager on a ATV/Snowmobile who is gorked out of his mind on Red Bull!!!" See that little red sign on the tree? That's exactly what it says!
On your left you'll notice the picturesque pond. Ma'am? Yes, you in the back, can you please keep your spawn from pelting the nice gentleman in front of you, with Cheerios? Thanks.
Moving on, here's a lovely country road. It would have been a nicer shot had the photographer not been in a moving vehicle at the time the picture was taken.
We here at Barking Mad Tours thought it might be fun to venture off the beaten path and head onto the road less traveled. How about a little side tour of one of our older bone yards?
This cemetery dates back to pre-Revolutionary War times. It's in a little disrepair, but I don't think the inhabitants are worrying too much about that.
So young. Just one of eight children of the Newell's who died in 1836. Only 10 months old.
This statue grave-marker for the Bickford clan dates back to the 1870's.
The late Mr. Bickford and all FIVE of his late wives must be rolling in their graves right about now due to the state of this dear lady. All 5 of those wives' combined efforts would never be able to get the mold out of this old gal's gown...
This concludes our tour of the Barking Mad 'Hood. Please remain seated and buckled in until the tram has come to a complete stop. There is hot coffee and free apples (please, we beg you, take one...two...or as many as you want!), apple pie, apple muffins, apple scones, and apple crisp for your enjoyement.
Once you've had your fill of muffins, and pie, and scones and coffee I invite you to head on over to Deb's place at Bird on a Wire and visit me over there, as I'm perched on a limb, singing the praises of TypePad.
Thanks for taking the New England version of "In My 'Hood." Please come back and see us again!
