Still no bloggy-baby yet...for those of you keeping track at home. Even with all the stuff in my drafts folder that's either 1/2 or nearly complete, I can't find the words to finish those posts. So they will remain, in a stage of perpetual "labor" until someone comes in and forcefully evicts it via a C-section.
Until then, I'm just gonna toss out some random stuff and call it good.
Congratulations to Wendy from Ruen's on the Run! She won the Wanna Swap contest. Go say hi and congrats!
Speaking of swapping...if you haven't already been over to Swap Mamas, GO! I scored some awesome kid's stuff and managed to get rid of 2 dozen wine glasses (1 dozen white and 1 dozen red!) as well as two brand new Camelbak bottles.
You just never know who you might meet in the chat. Isn't that right, Mrs. Waltz? We had an awesome time last night out there.
I've gotta say, after a day in which we spent a combined $2500 on two cars that aren't even 4 years old, after our state inspections revealed a butt-load of stuff that needed to be taken care of, as deemed by the state of Maine (ironically enough, it's the lovely roads in the State of Maine that are to blame for the fact that the Jeep needed 4 new tires and some ball joint thing! Dammit!) before we could slap up-to-date inspection stickers (which are a God-awful shade of puke yellow!) on the windscreen of our cars...so I cut loose with a Stella and my keyboard and did some swappin'!
That's right, be envious! Whilst others were out getting some bloggy-love at Blissdom '09,, I was slamming Stellas and swapping kids clothes and wine glasses and reminding myself that we might be out $2500 (and that was cash....remember that stuff? We actually used it to pay this time around) but we now have two new puke-yellow stickers on our cars. Life doesn't get much better!
Then the phone rang...at midnight. Can you guess who it was? 'Twas Megawatt.
"Moooooooommmmmmm, I locked my keys in my car.....AGAIN." When she does this, she not only locks her keys in her car, but she locks herself out of her dorm as well. Oddly enough, the last time she did this back in December, it was around 11PM. Guess who drove two hours, ONE WAY, in the middle of a freezing cold night to go and unlock the Volvo so she could get her keys? Yep, yours truly. This time? Not so much.
Thankfully someone on campus called AAA and got her into the car and back inside the her dorm. Seriously, I was not driving all the way out there. I knew, somehow or other (especially with 24 hour on-campus security), she'd get into her dorm. I also knew there would be a fine for lock-outs and that would hopefully cure her of locked-keys-in-car syndrome. Yes, I'm a bitch. But I think, had you had a beer, and it was midnight, you might also have been in touch with your inner bitch as well.
Being that yesterday was such a banner day around the Barking Mad Asylum, I decided to start today off by almost having to go to the ER, followed by a visit to my local plastic surgeon. I tell ya, I'm on a roll. I decided that today was the day to put new collars on the furbeasts and Frontline them as well. The cats are not happy. The hubby and I are now sporting Neosporin and band-aides, but at least we won't have to worry about fleas or ticks (on the cats...just in case you needed any clarification on that point!), and with the bells on their new collars, the birds and chipmunks and other assorted wildlife outside have a fighting chance!
And now m'dears, I leave you with this parting announcement.
Despite all my other contests having sucked like Dysons, I have been tasked with giving away....are you ready for this...?

a $250.00 Target gift card.
That's right. $TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS$ to spend to your heart's content at Target.
On Wednesday February 11th, 2009 I'll announce it, officially, and kick it off. It's going to run through Wednesday March 4th, 2009. The best part about the contest...it's all about you! This will be your chance to highlight the best of your blog, and share it with others. It's all about the linky-love!
But that's all I'm going to say about that right now.
Geez, for someone who didn't have much to say, to begin with, she sure said a lot.
