I am still so utterly and completely dumbfounded that I am having trouble finding the words to articulate just how surprised I am.
I guess I have to set the scene a little bit so that you understand how this all went down.
Being that it's Good Friday, the hubby has today off. Unfortunately last night he told me that he had a very important meeting with a client and whilst he absolutely had to go into the office, he'd be back around 11AM and we could take the rest of the day to work on things around the house. So I was slightly bummed but on the bright side, the day wasn't going to be a total loss. The Little Imp has an Easter Party at Montessori so she was spending half the day there.
Megawatt is home for Easter break (shorter version of Spring Break which she just had), and she talked me into getting into the pool at the butt crack of dawn this morning. After a argument that probably wasn't as epic as the one she was hoping for, I agreed to go. At this point the Little Imp is off to Montessori with Daddy, on his way to work and Megawatt and I are headed to the Y, around 6:30AM this morning.
We swim, we shower, we head home around 8:30AM and as I'm sitting here working on a post about how my heart still aches for Mike and Heather Spohr after the loss of sweet Maddie, and I can't possibly come up with a decent blog post because my head and heart are still so full of some sort of painful fluff which prevents any other cognizant thought from leaving my head through my fingertips; in walks the hubby. He says that the client never showed up. Then he disappears and the doorbell rings. I'm thinking to myself, "Who the hell would be here this early? Did we have a contractor scheduled to show up and I forgot?"
As I'm walking down the stairs I can see the top of the head of a female standing at the front door. I immediately thought it might be the Spare Megan coming to profer an apology (long story) to me, but as I got further down the stairs I realized it wasn't the Spare Megan and the first thought that came to mind was that it was probably Jehovah's Witnesses.
I opened the door and saw this young woman standing there with her hair back and sunglasses smoothed back over her hair and she was holding a handbag. I knew it, Jehovah's Witnesses! Then I looked at the other woman standing there with her and I thought to myself, "Damn, that JW sure looks like my sister, Amanda! And lookie there, she has a baby with her and I bet she's around the same age as my darling niece Cali!"
Then suddenly the hamsters upstairs that power the small wheel that occasionally kicks in and powers my brain, kicked into overdrive and I shouted; "Holy shit it's my sister and the baby!"
Turn out the hubby knew all along that Amanda, Cali, and Amanda's close friend Angela were flying in today to surprise me. And surprise me they did!
Look who's here visiting the asylum!!!!!
Happy Easter, Passover and Happy Spring Holiday to you all!
