...or so she keeps telling me!
Gaby has been absolutely full of "Seussisms" today as she is in full-on celebration mode in honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday!
This morning she asked me to put her hair up so that she looked like someone from Whoville, so that she could be "full of Dr. Seuss!"
Now, from past experience, we all know that I'm not exactly an expert at when it comes to fixing my daughters hair. Meg had long, thick, straight hair and at best, she got pony tails. I have had some minor success with something called a fishtail/herringbone braid, but that's only because it's a lot easier than it looks! I still can't manage a simple french braid!
Knowing that, Gaby still placed enough confidence in her mom to come up with something Seusstastical!
This is where a plastic cup, several bobby pins and aerosol cement come in handy!
I give you, Gaby Lou Who!
Then, because The Cat in the Hat is her favorite Dr. Seuss book, she asked me to make her look like the Cat in the Hat himself. What? Does she think I'm Dick Smith or something? Thank goodness for eyeliner and an easily impressed child!
Did you or your children do anything Seusstastical and fun to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday?
**********
I apologize for the craptastical (I promise, that will be the last time I end a word with "tastical." I'm already over it!) quality of my images. I can't tell if it's the ancient DSLR I'm using, or the fact that I'm still using my computer in safe mode. The graphics are absolutely horrible when running in safe mode and everything is completely out-of-proportion. I think, being that the camera I'm currently using now was the very first professional DSLR to come from the manufacturer, that it's way past it's "best buy" date.
With over 200,000 actuations, I'm thankful it's taken me as far as it has and been there with me while I've tried to learn more about basic photography and even helped me earn a place in a couple of New England galleries. Alas, it's dying and while I'd like to blame everything on the computer, I'm pretty sure my camera has given me it's best and it's time to retire it.
